Hey gang.
Good news it I'm drawing a lot more! The bad news is I can't show anything for a while.
I'm "trying" to do storyboards for a lower budget horror film. It's written and directed by my girlfriend's brother, so it's not like it's a job, job.
That is no way an insult to what they're doing as the movies I've seen have been really fun and are selling. Just it's not like applied for the job. It was more like, "hey we like your art, would you be up for giving this a try?"
But I'm still taking it pretty seriously. This is the 4th movie their production company has done, probably the third released and the first one with any sort of a budget.
While even if I botch it, I'm sure nothing will really happen, but I wanted to do storyboards and character designs since I was like 17. Even as a favor, the fact that I'm doing what I wanted to do creatively 15 years later is just scary and intimidating.
I've done so much and am only half way through. Hopefully I can make my deadline at the end of the month. My day job has made it hard. Too many hours/ 6 days a week. I haven't had a set day off for months, no set schedule. There are days I work til' 8 at night and then have to be in again at 5 am. It's sort of hard to schedule "art" time at all.
So there are days that I'm just too tired to draw and then I just get further and further behind.
If you've liked my silly little nonsense over the years, just wish me luck. Who knows this might lead to something down the road. And even if it doesn't it's been a blast to try and just great to be drawing again. If I get this done, I'll try to post more. Just really don't want to post anything until they've given it the okay.
All the best.
Steve
